In the early hours of May 30, 2024, members of the Killaloe Detachment stopped an SUV on 60 Highway in North Algona Wilberforce during a RIDE check. The driver, 35-year-old Johnathon Lawrence of Eganville, was charged with driving over the legal alcohol limit, having cannabis readily available, driving without a licence, and having open liquor in the vehicle. Lawrence is scheduled to appear in court on June 26, 2024. The vehicle was impounded.
