Business leaders from the Renfrew area are now on the same page when it comes to local economic growth.
The Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce President Laurie Wichers-Schreur welcomed a small group to the myFM Centre this week as part of their returning Networking Breakfast series.
The meeting featured updates on development opportunities in our local municipalities and how local businesses can take advantage of a growing population base.
Wichers-Schreur says the news from our local town halls was positive, especially when it comes to the upcoming development of homes and apartments in a number of communities. However, she says there’s a future discussion on affordable housing that she would like to include the County of Renfrew in.
My Broadcasting Corporation President Jon Pole delivered the morning’s keynote address, which Wichers-Schreur explains hammered home the point of successful businesses giving more to their communities than they take.
All in all, the Chamber President feels like the morning meetup was exactly the type of social event they’ve been sorely missing since the pandemic.
The Chamber is looking to make the networking breakfast a regular event throughout the year, touching on different topics and areas of interest for local businesses each fiscal quarter.
