myFM had a tour of this year’s Moore Garden in early May, when it was in its formative stages stages for 2024- but garden artist Norma Moore has been planning her charity display since last December’s Florida sojourn.
The June 8th event will be a spectacular showing of colour and fragrance, and Norma’s hard work will benefit the good work of two organizations striving to stabilize Ukraine in the midst of its ongoing crisis.
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal- an East European parallel of Doctors Without Borders, and the Canada Ukraine Foundation will share proceeds from the event.
The Moore Garden, at 15 Carmichael Sideroad in rural Braeside, is a sensory feast and should not be missed.
The C-U-F will have a presence at the Moore Garden Showing, and will be pleased to outline its relief work in Ukraine.
The Moore Garden isn’t difficult to find- you just head south on Usborne Road- or north along Campbell Drive, but there will be a crowd, so best to come in a group.
Norma will have a valet directing you to available parking opportunities.
Some of her neighbours will make space available on adjacent properties.
The garden’s fragrant display is temptation enough, but additional olfactory delights involve samples of cuisine, to be provided by Ottawa’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
While the Moore Garden is something to see, it may also be the topic of conversation at the event.
Norma Moore and spouse George have spent countless hours preparing for the event- and we all have a sense of urgency for the cause, but Norma’s delight on the day may just be the opportunity to talk shop
Garden Showing for Ukraine, Saturday June 8th from 1PM to 5PM, at 15 Carmichael Sideroad in rural Braeside. Rain Date: Sunday June 9th.
