One big party in Renfrew led to an even bigger surprise for Annette Miller.
She was the lucky winner of the myFM $10,000 Block Party, which saw Canada’s Premier Queen Tribute, Scaramouche, wowed a packed crowd inside the myFM Centre on Saturday night.
As the rest of the crowd went “Radio Ga Ga” with anticipation as a wheel featuring hundreds of names entered in for the massive prize spun during an intermission, Miller says she was caught unaware from her seat in the crowd.
Miller has already agreed to spread the love around; a pact made earlier that day will ensure her circle of friends also have something to celebrate.
A stunned Miller admitted to myFM in the Morning host Jamie Cybulski that she was in shock even as she was whisked on stage to celebrate the win and was still processing the news as the crews began packing up equipment.
Still, she says the $10,000 win capped off an evening to remember.
Miller was not the only big winner over the weekend, as Renfrew Hospice raised $1,147.50 through a 50/50 draw held during the concert, and Renfrew Minor Hockey made $662 in donations as they helped the community with parking outside the arena.
