The Renfrew Curling Club hosts its Annual Garage Sale on Saturday, May 25, from 8-11 a.m.
Brooker’s Cider, 1632 Scotch Bush Rd. in Douglas, invites you to a drop-in cider tasting this Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Craig the cidermaker will be pouring tastings of our natural hard cider. Pop in and enjoy some birdsong and greenery while sippin’ on some very unique hard cider!
The TSA 3rd annual Plant Sale is on Saturday May 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Stewart Hall, 291 Plaunt St. South. Donations of house plants, perennials, annuals, seedlings and anything garden are welcome. Proceeds to Camp Lau-Ren.
The myFM $10,000 Block Party is on Saturday, May 25 at the myFM Centre! Rock out to your favourite Queen songs with Scaramouche, Canada’s Premier Queen Cover Band. One lucky person in the audience will receive $10,000 at the party! Tickets are $45, and available online. Limited tickets may be available at the door.
On Sunday, May 26, the Proulx family is hosting a barbecue fundraiser at the barns on the Renfrew Fairgrounds. The fair board will be hosting a small animal sale at the same time. The event will include bake sale table, prize table, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade personal size pizza. Horses will be on site for petting and picture taking. All proceeds will go towards the Proulx Pull (June 8, DACA Centre, 10 a.m.).

LOCAL SPORTS: Support our teams!
For some hockey action, swing by the myFM Centre where the 6th Annual Challenge Cup, a small junior hockey spring tournament, is being held. The event began Thursday and runs until 9 p.m. Saturday with playoff games planned Sunday morning. Players between 2007 and 2003 from all over will be playing.
For the month of May Renfrew Prep Basketball will be hosting weekly clinics at three different locations throughout the Ottawa Valley. All clinics are focused on individual technique and skills development. Each session is “pay as you go” and the drop-in fee is $30/session cash or e-transfer. Head to their website to see which camps are closest to you.
