
On May 14, a log truck driver sustained minor injuries in a collision that occurred on Paugh Lake Road near Peplinski Homestead Road in the Township of Madawaska Valley. The incident happened just before 9:00 a.m. and prompted a response from members of the Killaloe OPP.
According to the investigation, the accident occurred when the logging truck trailer tipped over while rounding a corner, causing the logs to spill into the ditch. The collision also resulted in damage to a hydro pole, necessitating assistance from Hydro One. A heavy tow truck was required to clear the site.
The 74-year-old driver from Russell was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. The roadway was temporarily closed to facilitate the cleanup operation. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
