As many of us may have spent the holiday weekend planting vegetable gardens, this is an opportune time to remind of the June 8th floral garden showing at the Moore residence on Carmichael Sideroad in Braeside- a benefit for Ukraine.
Norma Moore is our garden artiste- and she picks up with colour theory as it corresponds to the growing months.
The garden as you will see it on the eighth of June differs radically from how the Moores found the property an half century ago.
Norma Moore tells us June 8th will not be the first time her garden has been pressed into service for a cause.
Norma used garden stock for plant sales to engage a legal team, and the odour of asphalt no longer lingers as even an idea in rural Braeside.
While her blue and gold themed garden, the colours of the Ukrainian flag, predates the current crisis in the East European nation, it is fortuitous happenstance.
Norma contacted the Canada-Ukraine Foundation in Toronto, even from the Moore’s Florida residence, and began making plans.
What those plans are- and how you can help support a far-away cause by viewing a beautiful garden so close to home, await us on a future Community Spotlight we’ll be sharing soon, on Oldies 107.7
