After an exceptional 54 years of combined service with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the former Pembroke Police Service (PPS), Special Constable Gerry Briscoe has announced his retirement. Officer Briscoe devoted 37 years to serving as a Constable with the OPP, followed by six years as a Special Constable with the PPS, and another 11 years as a Special Constable with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP.
“Your commitment to the OPP and our community over many decades has been exemplary. We wish you a happy and well-earned retirement,” said UOV OPP Detachment Commander Steph Neufeld, expressing gratitude for Briscoe’s dedicated service.
Briscoe spent much of his career at the Renfrew OPP Detachment, where he excelled in a variety of roles such as frontline patrol, motorcycle patrol, marine unit, and criminal investigations.
