The Kitchissippi-Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Council of Canadians “went into overtime” during their presentation to Renfrew County Council Wednesday (April 24th), as the group’s delegation was extended to almost 45 minutes by consent of representatives.
The Climate Matters spokespersons presented a resident petition with 537 signatures requesting County participate in establishing a Valley Climate Action Committee.
Following queries and comments from councillors, Warden Peter Emon tasked County staff to review the material in the presentation and report back on the merits of suggestions made- possibly as soon as Renfrew County’s monthly meeting in June.
Those who couldn’t attend are invited to view the presentation on Renfrew County Council’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pbs9BRO7wE&t=3314s
Meantime, the Climate Matters group continues to collect further petition signatures.
