A young Renfrew resident has been the talk of the town as her family gets ready to kick cancer to the curb.
But who is Maeve, and what are friends and family banding together to put on in support of her battle? We asked Erika, her mom, to tell us more.
Tickets are available right now for the June 22nd Dance for Maeve at the Renfrew Armouries, and her great aunt, Sandra Riopelle, says your ten dollars will go towards helping mom and dad cover the added expenses that come with Maeve getting the treatment she needs.
Support has been pouring in since Maeve’s diagnosis in February, according to family friend Diane Lapensee.
She says word of the fundraiser, which she has been helping to organize, has spread well beyond town limits.
Community members have also been ready to supply door and raffle prizes and food for the event, as well as the Renfrew Armouries providing the location in support of Maeve.
There’s even a tasty opportunity waiting for you to help out along the way in downtown Renfrew.
Tickets are available at Pick It Fence, Landella Hair Salon, and the Renfrew Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Centre. You can also get them by emailing Sandra or Diane.
