On April 12, 2024, just after 3:00 p.m., officers from the Killaloe detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) swiftly responded to a traffic incident at the intersection of 60 Highway and Bulger Road, situated within the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.
The incident involved a collision between two vehicles—a passenger car and a pickup truck. Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the passenger car collided with the rear of the pickup truck, resulting in damage to both vehicles.
Following a thorough examination of the scene, law enforcement determined that the 35-year-old driver of the passenger car, hailing from Renfrew, was at fault. Consequently, they were charged with careless driving, a violation of the Highway Traffic Act. A Provincial Offences Act notice was promptly issued to the driver.
Thankfully, neither party involved in the collision sustained injuries, and towing services were deemed unnecessary. The OPP continues to urge all motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
