Renfrew County District School Board’s new Superintendent of Education looks forward to working to help all students reach their full potential when he assumes his role this June.
Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) officials recently announced the selection of Cary Kronwald as the incoming Superintendent of Education effective June 3.
Kronwald joins the senior RCDSB team to fill the vacancy with the upcoming retirement of Superintendent Renald Cousineau.
“I am so excited to join the Renfrew County District School Board to continue my work supporting success for all students,” Cary Kronwald. “Throughout my career as a teacher and administrator, innovation and passion have inspired me to reinvent, adapt, and be creative. This has helped me to ensure that all students can learn to their greatest potential, and feel included and safe.”
RCDSB officials are pleased with the hiring.
“We are thrilled to welcome Cary to the RCDSB team. With his wealth of knowledge, passion for public education, and diverse experiences, Cary is poised to propel our priorities forward. His innovative approaches and shared values will undoubtedly enhance our collective efforts. With Cary on board, we look forward to advancing our mission of working together to foster outstanding educational experiences for our students,” said Director Kristen Niemi.
Kronwald earned a Masters of Education from Charles Sturt University, a Diploma of Education from Concordia University College of Alberta, and a Bachelors of Arts from Carleton University. He brings 22 years of experience in supporting student success, including 11 years as a school administrator for the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB). Cary has experience in both elementary and secondary public education, as well as district-wide initiatives, including the board leadership development strategy and piloting student learning models that were then adopted by the UCDSB.
