UPDATE: At 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, the town reported that water service had been restored to the affected area and that OCWA would be flushing mains for the next few hours, which may result in low pressure and coloured water. Officials say work on the repair is expected to continue into Thursday, which may result in low pressure in the area but should not disrupt service. Water from flushing may pool along O’Brien Road and Eighth street overnight.
The Town of Renfrew is advising residents about a watermain break on O’Brien Road near Eighth Street tonight (April 10).
The issue is outlined in a post made at 8:29 p.m. on the town’s Facebook page: “The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OWCA) is addressing a watermain break on O’Brien Road near Eighth Street,” reads the post. “Residents in this area may experience low water pressure as the repair is conducted. Work is expected to take a couple hours.”
Officials are asking the public to please use caution if traveling though this area as crews complete the repair.
