Town Council has dropped another bombshell in their ongoing dive into the Ma-te-Way Expansion.
Mayor Tom Sidney would lay out the council’s direction coming out of closed session on Tuesday evening.
Council would have additional steps to take in regard to the findings of the Ma-te-Way Expansion’s third-party review, which was presented to the town by WSCS Consulting earlier this year.
CAO Rob Tremblay is expected to report back with a preliminary action plan to address the findings of the review at their next council meeting on April 23rd, as well as to extend the mandate of the consultants to finalize their review of the project including completion of their fraud investigation and detailed financial review.
Another step taken directs the town clerk to involve the local authorities.
Also set to be discussed at their next meeting is a motion brought forward by Reeve Peter Emon earlier in the evening, which will ask council to “consider and approve sanctions for a current member of council whose actions have or will impact negatively the image of the Town of Renfrew,” although it’s not known if this item is related to the Ma-te-Way Expansion.
