Renfrew’s Savhanna Lambert and her team will try to ring up a win today in New Brunswick.
Lambert, a Grade 12 student at Renfrew Collegiate Institute, is part of the West Ottawa Wild Under-19 AA team currently playing at the Canadian Ringette Championships in Dieppe.
Lambert explains in a feature that RCI posted to social media that it’s her second and last attempt at this level of competition, and the perfect way to end a journey that began at just four years old.
Savhanna says attending nationals with her team is one of her greatest accomplishments, describing it as an amazing experience that has given her the chance to grow as an athlete.
The West Ottawa Wild will look to rebound Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. following a pair of losses to kick off the tournament on Monday. You can catch the action live on the Ringette Canada YouTube page.
Savhanna and company also have a pair of games on Wednesday, including an 11:45 a.m. matchup with the Zone 2 Blaze of Alberta and a 6:00 p.m. game against the Bonivital Angels of Mantioba.
