Pockets of the rural Ottawa Valley continue to deal with power outages after heavy, wet snow and strong winds buffeted the area over the past few days.
Hydro One reports that crews have scattered across the region in an attempt to assess the damage and repair it as quickly as possible.
Some of the notable outages include around 100 customers without power between Mt. Saint Patrick, Calabogie, and White Lake; over 260 customers currently in the dark in the area of Brudenell and Harriet’s Corners; approximately 300 people waiting for the lights to come back on north of Barry’s Bay towards Paugh Lake; and 175 reported outages in homes just west of Dacre towards Lake Clear. All outages are expected to be repaired by noon today.
Another major outage in and around Palmer’s Rapids is affecting 510 Hydro One customers. The damage is currently being assessed, and repairs could take until 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
There are also some isolated local outages just outside of Renfrew, with small groups of customers without power along Garden Lake, Lochwinnoch, Goshen, Burnstown, and Ashdad. Hydro One says outages to the west of Renfrew are expected to be fixed by noon, while those on the east side could take until 6:00 or 8:00 p.m.
