The last team standing in the Upper Ottawa Valley fell out of the playoffs last night, as the Renfrew Wolves’ offence struggled to find much luck in their 3-1 Game 6 loss against the Rockland Nationals.
League MVP Jace Letourneau kept Renfrew close enough to battle into the waning moments with a shorthanded goal, but the Wolves were unable to convert with the extra attacker on the ice in the final moments to force overtime. Kyle Leonard scored twice on the powerplay for Rockland, and Jaden Davis provided the empty net dagger moments ahead of the final whistle.
General Manager Ryan Leonard and the Wolves coaching staff will have plenty of questions to figure out as the league prepares for their player draft later this month, including the status of Letourneau and other older players who have either made collegiate commitments or are considering other options for next year.
