The Renfrew Wolves huddle up during their 5-1 win over the Rockland Nationals on Saturday, March 30th.
After three games of trial and error, the Renfrew Wolves were finally able to get their top forwards involved in their first round CCHL playoff series with the Rockland Nationals as Game 4 took over the myFM Centre on Saturday night.
Renfrew would score five unanswered goals to start the game, including a pair of tallies from league MVP Jace Letourneau and Noah Vom Scheidt’s second in as many games, in a 5-1 win that would bring the series level at 2-2.
Austin Fellinger and Dane Carter would also add to Renfrew’s lead, as they were able to chase Rockland goaltender Benoit Forget to the bench halfway through the second period. Wolves goaltender Slava Gordeichuk would return to form on the other end, stopping 27 of 28 shots on net and carrying a shutout into the final minutes in the winning effort.
Renfrew’s victory has turned the series into a rapid-fire best-of-three, which will be decided in the next four days, starting with Game 5 at the Rockland Arena on Easter Sunday, March 31st. You can catch the action live with 96.1 myFM, starting with the pre-game show just before 7:00 p.m.
