Despite a valiant effort, the Renfrew Wolves are now on the back foot in their first-round CCHL Playoff series with the Rockland Nationals after a tough 4-3 overtime loss.
Renfrew would find themselves in a hole early, but Kai Billey, Owen Grainger, and Noah Vom Scheidt would score late in the game to force an extra frame before Rockland’s Mathis Bedard would seal the win.
Wolves Coach Ryan Leonard called the loss a “heartbreaker” as his team “were very good all night” and had chances to swing the game their way in overtime.
Rockland now leads the series 2 games to 1 as action returns to Renfrew on Saturday night for a pivotal game 4 inside the myFM Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
