After coming away with a close win on Friday, the Renfrew Wolves were unable to answer the call a second time when their first round playoff series against the Rockland Nationals turned to the myFM Centre for Game Two on Saturday, losing 7-0.
Neither starting goaltender Slava Gordeichuk nor reserve Nolan Lane were able to contain the Rockland attack. Meanwhile, Renfrew was able to break through on the other end, with Nationals goalie Benoit Forget stopping all 25 shots against to earn first-star of the game honours.
Following the game, Wolves head coach Ryan Leonard would note over social media that it just wasn’t Renfrew’s night, adding that they would be “back to work” ahead of the series heading back to Rockland for Game Three. Hear the game live this Thursday, March 28th, on 96.1 myFM. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
