Horton Township has created a grant program to assist with improvement costs on private roads.
Officials say the program gives residents a reason to attain and/or maintain road standards, which is especially important for emergency vehicles.
The policy has criteria for successful application that promotes accessibility and development within the township and offers a solution to emergency response services regarding accessibility to private roads, says the township.
