The host Renfrew Wolves had little mercy for a struggling Brockville side during a rare Wednesday night match-up inside the myFM Centre, thoroughly shellacking their opponents in a lopsided 13-1 contest that appeared over before the first period even came to a close.
The Wolves peppered Brockville goaltenders Dustin Riff and Edouard Piche for a combined 66 shots on target, including a 28-shot barrage in the opening frame that saw forward Noah Vom Scheidt score the first two of his five goals on the night.
Jack Dolan would add a hat trick of his own, as well as two assists. Kai Billey also scored twice, with Mathieu Paquin, Austin Fellinger, and Ethan Smith rounding out the evening’s extended scoring summary.
The drubbing marks the Renfrew Wolves’ 30th win this season. Head Coach Ryan Leonard would note following the victory that it’s a milestone that only the Wolves have accomplished in all three CCHL seasons since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Renfrew wraps up their final homestand of the season this Friday, March 15th, when they host the Hawkesbury Hawkes at the myFM Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
