The Town of Renfrew is getting ahead of the annual need to hire for summer work by putting the call out right now.
A number of student positions are accepting applications right now, including for an interpreter at the McDougall Mill Museum.
The interpreter role focuses on visitor experience, acting as the main point of contact at the museum by greeting, providing orientation, answering questions, and providing guided tours, among other duties.
They’re also looking for someone to handle the various camps the town runs for local children while school is out, including someone with strong leadership and communication skills to supervise and ensure the safety of campers at their annual summer camp. Applicants should also have knowledge of a number of recreational activities and previous experience in similar roles.
If you would prefer a more physically engaging job, the Town of Renfrew is also looking for help with the Household Hazardous Waste Depot or as a maintenance and operations assistant working under the Department of Maintenance, Facilities, and Operations.
You would focus on road and sidewalk repair, park maintenance, grass and horticulture duties, surveys, and more over a 16-week term starting in May.
The deadline for applications ranges from March 1st to March 25th, and students interested in a possible position with the town can find the full job postings on the Town of Renfrew’s website.
All inquiries can be made by email to the County of Renfrew’s HR Department or by calling 613-735-7288.
