If you want to have a say on Renfrew’s 2024 budget, now is the time to speak with Town Hall.
Council is set to bring an amended version of the budget to council in the coming weeks, and Renfrew’s Chief Administrative Officer, Rob Tremblay, explained at their January 30th meeting how residents can get involved.
Some members of the council had expressed a desire to try and trim the current 9.42% increase to the tax levy and Renfrew residents’ upcoming tax bills.
Tremblay notes that the sharp increase comes despite the Treasury Department putting in significant effort to get the $69 million document down to just a 3% increase.
The draft budget is currently being looked at and amended by the committee leading up to the public budget meeting on Tuesday, February 20th, and, if approved there, the official adoption of the document on February 27th.
You can ensure your voice is heard by contacting Town Clerk Carolyn Errett ahead of 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16th, at cerrett@renfrew.ca or 613-432-4848.
