If you’re following along on your scorecard at home, Schedules A and B tell the tale of the Town’s 2.5 percent municipal tax increase for combined 2024 Operating and Capital Budgets as the matter came before Council one last time Monday (February 12th).
Irony is, the amount of the hike is not even mentioned in the fine print.
Councillor Lynn Cloutier was quick to call it to our attention.
Even the customary Budget Press Release, sent post-meeting by email, did not include the customary, “how does this hit my wallet” calculation.
A recorded vote was called, with Cloutier the only dissenter.
The 2024 Arnprior Municipal Budget was enacted on a vote of 6-1.
