The local chapter of the Council of Canadians talks climate action at their January 20th Climate Café event at the Killaloe Public Library.
Did you know that 2023 research from Lakehead University names climate change as a major concern for most young people? The topic also continues to be an important matter across the Ottawa Valley and beyond.
With that in mind, the Kitchissippi-Ottawa Chapter of the Council of Canadians will keep the discussion going on Saturday, February 10th, as their Climate Café series drops by the Madawaska Valley Library in Barry’s Bay from 10:00 a.m. to noon that morning.
Spokesperson Ann Pohl says the volunteer-run event will be of special interest to youth, teachers, parents, and others who care about coming generations, offering facts, conversation, resources, and snacks as community members of all ages learn how they encourage climate action at the local level.
Pohl adds that “we can achieve a more manageable future,” but “the first step is for us, as neighbours in communities, to talk about it.”
