Arnprior Town Council finished off its 2024 Budget Discussions at a Special Meeting Monday (February 5th).
There were no takers on Councillor Cloutier’s proposed two percent budget increase, and when Lisa McGee called for 2.24- positioning herself as a “Mayor in the Middle”, no uptake on that figure either.
County Councillor Dan Lynch took the pulse of the room, with his Budget motion, seconded by Tom Burnett, (for 2.5 percent).
Representatives preferred not to risk further depletion of the Town’s Reserve Funds in a difficult year.
Treasurer Jennifer Morawiec says all the final documents will be ready for approval next week.
This year’s budget returns for Council’s final meeting on the matter, February 12th.
