Hospice Renfrew provides palliative care free of charge and is staffed 24/7.
Hospice Renfrew wants to make sure people caring for others are looked after.
Grief and Bereavement Counsellor Julie Keon says their Nurturing the Caregiver Workshops will provide a place for unpaid caretakers of loved ones to connect and be nurtured.
Keon adds that the offer extends to more than just people with loved ones in hospice, including caring for them at home, in the hospital, or in long-term care.
She says that the monthly sessions are a lifeline for people who can often be isolated by their role as caretakers.
All of the workshop sessions will happen at Hospice Renfrew’s office at 459 Albert Street from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on March 23rd, with the following sessions on April 20th, May 11th, and June 15th.
You will need to register so Keon can handle the logistics ahead of time. You can get the process started or inquire if you qualify for the workshops by contacting her by calling Hospice Renfrew at 613-433-3993, ext. 2237, or by email jkeon@hospicerenfrew.ca.
