The Ottawa Valley’s winter storm watch has now been upgraded to a warning. According to Environment Canada, we could see between 15 and 30cm of snow beginning this afternoon and continuing through tomorrow morning. Northeast winds gusting up to 50 km/h will result in areas of blowing snow giving poor visibility at times. As a result, all school bus transportation has been canceled today for all English public and catholic schools today. However, the schools are still open for in-person learning. There is a risk of ice pellets and freezing rain tonight. Police are suggesting to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
The Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium has announced that all school busses in the Ottawa Valley have been cancelled for today due to the forecast. All schools remain open.
