The Renfrew Wolves jumped right back in where they left off at the end of 2023, outgunning both of their opponents during their two-game swing over this past weekend.
The Wolves began their second half of the CCHL season on the road in Brockville, where newcomer Mathieu Paquin would make his presence felt with a pair of goals on route to Friday night’s 8-4 win.
Dane Carter continued to keep pace in the league’s scoring race with two goals of his own, with Aaron Enright, Henry Wilson, and the league’s points leader, Jace Letourneau, adding tallies in the victory.
The Wolves would head back to the myFM Centre on Saturday for a game with the Kemptville 73’s, where Noah Vom Scheidt reacquainted himself with the Renfrew faithful.
Vom Scheidt, who spent two years in Renfrew before heading to the NAHL’s Rochester Jr. Americans to start the 2023–24 season, scored a goal and added an assist in the Wolves’ 7-3 victory. Paquin would continue to make an impact with his new club, putting up three assists in the winning effort.
The Wolves will have a far tougher task in store for them this weekend as they begin a home-and-home series on the road this Friday, January 12th, against the Smiths Falls Bears. You can hear the action as it happens on 96.1 myFM, starting with the pre-game show at 7:20 p.m.
