If you’re still undecided on a New Year’s resolution, why not pick up a new sport?
Renfrew’s Curling Club will start a six-week Learn to Curl course for adults of all ages and abilities on January 11th.
The club’s Nancy Saumure explains that lessons are taught in-house by members and are a great way to break into their weekly league nights.
She adds that there’s no stress to taking part, and you can always make up a missed lesson if you have to be away for a week, allowing you to learn the sport and ease your way into becoming a club member.
Nancy adds that, as someone with a bad hip, she understands that the sport can be hard on older joints. That being said, she says that the club has the right equipment on hand that will make sure your next draw to the button is pain-free.
The six-week program is $55 plus tax and begins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11th. All you’ll need to bring with you to lessons is a clean pair of running shoes, as the club has grippers, brooms, and other equipment on-site.
Learn more about the program and register through the Renfrew Curling Club’s website. You can also ask Nancy questions by email at saumurenancy@gmail.com or by calling 613-433-7309.
