The Renfrew County District Health Unit has an important announcement about flu and COVID-19 shots in the area.
The Health Unit’s large-scale community vaccine clinics are winding down as they switch to limited-booked appointments for people at higher risk of respiratory illness.
That includes residents and staff of retirement homes, people who are pregnant, individuals aged 65 years or older, health care workers, and first responders.
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines will still be available for the public through local primary care providers and pharmacies.
The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Jason Morgenstern, encourages anyone eligible who hasn’t received their vaccines to do so as soon as possible.
If you’re unable to receive vaccines through your health care provider or pharmacy, contact the RCDHU Immunization Line at 613-732-9436. You can also stay connected with any updates from the health unit on their website.
