Make it four wins in a row for the Renfrew Wolves as they head into the holiday break.
The Wolves would use Wednesday night’s 6-3 win against the Brockville Braves to put an exclamation mark on their frantic December climb up the CCHL standings.
Renfrew would control the first half of the game, jumping out to a 4-0 lead by midway through the second period thanks to the efforts of Hunter McKnight, Jack Dolan, Ethan Smith, and team captain Andrew Morton.
Brockville would push back, bringing the lead down to 4-2 heading into the third, before Dane Carter would put the game out of reach. Dolan would add a second tally on an empty Brockville net late to provide insurance.
Wolves goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk continued his strong stretch of play, turning away 31 of 34 Brockville attempts for his 13th win of the season.
The CCHL will take next week off, and your next chance to catch the Renfrew Wolves in action will be when the Wolves head to Brockville for a 7:30 p.m. game on Friday, January 5th. Hear the action live on 96.1 myFM, starting with the pre-game show at 7:20 p.m.
