The first ever Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign has been a pleasant surprise for our local Tim Hortons locations.
Franchise owners Richard and Shelly Dean say the festive fundraiser sold out in town, and across the country, in a matter of a couple of days, which means their cheque presentation to Columbus House on Tuesday morning blew past all expectations.
The facilitator for the Columbus House Young Parent Support Program, Lori Fountain, says the $7,008 will help the program to evolve in the quest to assist young parents in completing their education.
She adds that the support Renfrew and the surrounding community have shown throughout the Smile Cookie Campaign was fantastic.
Dean says that support doesn’t surprise him in the least.
He also adds that Columbus House made an abundance of sense when the restaurant’s crew was deciding on a group to help with the campaign because they had helped two of their current managers back during its days as a pilot project.
