The Renfrew Wolves would outlast a desperate push from the Brockville Braves to come out on top 7-4 in a rare Wednesday game.
Wednesday was the second attempt at High School Night inside the myFM Centre, as the Wolves played host to students from three local high schools who competed in tests of skating, trivia, and spirit chants as part of a make-up for a game the two sides had to cancel back in November after the Brockville bus broke down on the way to Renfrew.
The action did not disappoint the young crowd in attendance, with Wolves captain Andrew Morton leading the way with a two-goal effort. Teammate Hunter McKnight would also add a pair of tallies before being sent off for a game misconduct penalty after grabbing a facemask during a fight near the tail end of the second period.
Henry Wilson, Ethan Smith, and Jack Dolan would round out the scoring for the Wolves, and goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk continued a stretch of strong play between the pipes by stopping 27 of 31 shots for his 10th win of the season.
The Wolves return to action inside the myFM Centre on Saturday, December 16th, when they host the Hawkesbury Hawks at 7:30 p.m.
