A vehicle exploded at a US checkpoint in Niagara Falls on the American side, leaving four of the busiest Canada-US border crossings closed.
Reports say the two occupants in the vehicle that originated in the US died. The FBI calls the investigation fluid.
Crossings in the Thousand Islands, Prescott, and Cornwall are open but security has been stepped up.
It comes during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, US Thanksgiving. Delays are to be expected at all border crossings due to the increased security.
