Cutting hay at Clay Bank Nature Park and Outdoor Learning Centre will be a thing of the past, as the preserve completes its transition from agricultural usage.
McNab-Braeside Township Council is informed that the farmed areas of the park have been re-seeded with natural grasses, and the need to cut hay in future years will no longer arise.
Deputy Mayor Lori Hoddinott has been posing questions to Township Administration as to “who is paying for this?” after claimed expenses had risen from an anticipated 1500 dollars per year to 4500 over the two recent past years.
Hoddinott says it is not entirely correct to assume the funding for the task had come from a grasslands grant.
The Deputy Mayor says following the expenses thread to its source of origin is clear proof the Township is supportive of the Claybank Nature Park and Outdoor Learning Centre.
Hoddinott shared her continuing concerns at the Township’s municipal meeting November 7th.
