Eligible graduates of Algonquin College’s waterfront campus have a new loan available to them. The Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation has launched the Graduate Ignite Loan. Supporting graduates of the Business Ontario College Diploma program, the new loan can help them develop or expand their business. Executive Director of the Corporation, Cyndy Phillips says graduates sometimes have difficulty securing funding. The Federally supported not-for-profit hopes young entrepreneurs can make use of the funding. The new loan provides financing to cover eligible costs for new and early-stage businesses, whose owners have developed a comprehensive business plan and demonstrated their viability.
“Each year we have graduates of our business program who pursue their entrepreneurial hopes and dreams, but launching a business comes with many challenges including how to finance start-up costs. This new initiative by Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation is welcome support for our alumni and an example of how community organizations can play a role in helping new college graduates get their careers off on the right foot,” says the business program coordinator, Kim Drake.”
Interested students can contact RCCFDC by visiting their website, calling, or emailing info@rccfdc.org. There are two convenient locations to serve clients, the Pembroke Business Centre and the Renfrew Municipal Office.
