A rebranding for the town of Renfrew is hoping to fix a lack of civic identity within the community.
On Tuesday, the town’s Communications Coordinator, Rudy Kadlec, took councilors through a brand refresh that will begin to roll out across Renfrew in the coming months.
The complete package presented to council featured a revamped logo, a new slogan, as well as concepts for wayfinding signs directing people to local landmarks, signage for the Ottawa Valley Business Hive, a professionally produced promotional video, and more.
Chief Administrative Officer Rob Tremblay says the new branding will eventually be seen all over town, something the current logo has never quite achieved.
While the changes will be seen on everything for signs to stationary, Kadlec says the town’s official Seal, Coat of Arms, and motto are staying put.
That means Renfrew will still “Let it Flourish” while also “Bridging Charm and Convenience.”
In a statement, Reeve Peter Emon notes that “the changes to our visual identity will continue to enhance civic pride and create a brand that attracts visitors, new residents, employers, and investors.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tom Sidney says he’s excited for the rebrand, noting the new logo “reflects the growth and modernization in our community while highlighting our rich history.”
The rebranding is a collaboration with Syntax Strategic Marketing, whose President and CEO is from Renfrew.
