Shelley Martineau
A pillar of the community in the Pontiac region is getting a helping hand in her time of need.
Shawville Giant Tiger Owner Brayden Gauthier says his store and the Bryson Lionettes are hosting a special fundraiser this Saturday to help Shelley Martineau, who was recently reentered her battle with lung cancer.
Martineau, who has spent the past 26 years at Giant Tiger and an avid volunteer for the local food bank, Bouffe Pontiac, had her cancer surgically removed back in 2018 only for it to return earlier this year.
Since then, her family has been active in seeking support from the community as she steps away from her work, something Gauthier says people in the Pontiac Region have been eager to give.
The spaghetti dinner is this Saturday, November 4th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bryson Lions Hall. Tickets are available now at the Shawville Giant Tiger, as well as at the door on Saturday.
The night will help Shelley keep a steady cashflow as she gets treatment, and even the leftovers will go to a good cause.
The night will also feature a silent auction and 50/50 draw, also in support of Shelley in her battle with cancer.
