With Halloween soon behind us, the town of Renfrew is turning its gaze to the holidays.
The annual Santa Claus Parade will trek through downtown Renfrew on the evening of December 2nd, according to the town’s Community Outreach Specialist, Janyne Fraser.
She says the town has opened up registration for parade floats ahead of the event, but their focus right now is to get their ducks in a row behind the scenes.
That includes a number of sponsorship opportunities that are open to local businesses and organizations.
Packages start at $50 and go all the way up to a pair of $500 “Reindeer Level” packages that pull out all the stops.
Fraser says that you can also help by volunteering, as they will need help with staging the floats, handing out goodie bags and hot chocolate during the event, and assisting with the photo session with Santa at the Recreation Centre, among other jobs.
If you’re interested in lending a hand, Fraser says you should get in touch with her as soon as possible.
The Renfrew Santa Claus Parade begins at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd, taking off from the Armouries Buildings before heading through downtown on Raglan Street South and ending at Munroe Avenue.
Register your parade float and find out more about sponsorship opportunities on the Town of Renfrew’s website.
If you have any questions or want to volunteer, contact Janyne Fraser at 613-432-4848, ext. 118, or by email at jfraser@renfrew.ca.
