Small Business Week officially begins on Monday, but helping local businesses is a year-round mission for Renfrew’s ontrac office.
Their Job Developer, Sherri Harris, tells myFM that it’s their business to provide free services and training that find the right match between employers and job seekers.
Harris explains that a majority of employers in the Ottawa Valley are small businesses, and ontrac understands that it can be expensive to hire, train, and retain good employees.
So, what’s the number one thing a local business can do to find the right employees?
What about best practices for someone looking for a job?
ontrac provides local employers and job seekers with resources like a job board and job coaches on site at their office inside 270 Argyle Street South, which is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
They also have regularly scheduled training workshops, job matching, placement and incentives, and more.
