The Renfrew Wolves finished their CCHL Showcase on a high note, picking up their first win against the Ottawa Jr. Senators in over a season with a 3-0 shutout.
Renfrew entered the final day of the showcase having split in their previous two match-ups at the Bell Sensplex, dropping a 4-1 decision against Cornwall before bouncing back to beat Kemptville 4-3.
After a scoreless first period, the Wolves would pull ahead on the penalty kill thanks to a pair of quick goals from Jace Letourneau and Dane Carter. Jayson Alegria would put the game out of reach with his second goal of the season midway through the third. Renfrew goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk would turn away 33 saves for the win and his first shutout of the season.
The Renfrew Wolves will return home for a few days of rest before traveling to Hawkesbury on Friday, October 13th, for a match-up with the Hawks. Hear the game live on 96.1 myFM, with the action getting underway inside the Bob Hartley Sports Complex at 7:30 p.m.
