Minimum wage workers in Ontario just got a raise — but critics say it doesn’t come close to accounting for the cost of living.
The base hourly pay went from 15-dollars-50-cents an hour up to 16-dollars-55-cents.
It’s a jump of 6.8 per cent, tied to inflation.
Labour advocates and opposition critics have said Ontario should introduce a 20-dollar minimum wage.
The Ontario Living Wage Network says a living wage in the Greater Toronto Area is around 23-bucks an hour.
