Hannah Beach presenting to 350 RCDSB parents, guardians, and staff members at Festival Hall in Pembroke.
Our local public school board hosted over 350 teachers, staff, parents, and guardians for an important discussion.
The Renfrew County District School Board partnered with the Parent Involvement Committee to present a workshop featuring award-winning educator, author, emotional health consultant, and keynote speaker Hannah Beach on “The Emotional Roots of Aggression and Anxiety: Supporting Change and Building Resilient Kids” at Festival Hall in Pembroke on Thursday, September 27th.
The school board says that Beach led a “warm and conversational” talk on why children are showing more challenging behaviours than before and to address the root cause of their stress and anxiety.
Shelley Gagne, RCDSB’s Principal of Program Services for Kindergarten to Grade 6, that they were fortunate to have Beach speak to RCDSB’s parent and guardian community, along with staff members.
She notes how important those tools are, especially coming out of the pandemic, adding that Beach stressed the importance of “building conditions that foster emotional and social health, learning to recognize and acknowledge our children and teens’ feelings.”
