An event Tuesday September 19th firmed up a partnership between Enbridge Gas and the Arnprior Fire Department aimed at reducing Carbon Monoxide and Fire Deaths by improving home safety in the local community.
Enbridge supplied the Fire Department with 162 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
through Safe Community Project Zero.
The initiative is a public education campaign with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) that will provide more than 10,000 alarms to residents in 50 municipalities across Ontario.
Arnprior Fire Chief Rick Desarmia says, “With the help of Enbridge Gas, the Fire Marshal’s Public Safety Council and the Project Zero initiative, the strategy of providing combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms where they are needed within our community is another step in ensuring the safety of our
residents.”
This year, Enbridge Gas invested $315,000 in Safe Community Project Zero, and over the past 15 years, the program has provided more than 86,000 alarms to Ontario fire departments.
