Victoria Charbonneau and her team will have a new role to look after inside Town Hall.
Renfrew’s Town Clerk says the first civil marriage at Town Hall happened earlier this month on Friday, September 8th, and the Clerk’s Department “is excited to offer the service for anyone looking to get married.”
The local Council Chambers are able to host the couple to be and up to 25 guests from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and couples are welcome to supply their own flowers and photographers. Two witnesses are also required to make the marriage official and may be provided by the town if needed.
The weddings come at a fee of $250 to cover staff time and resources, and Charbonneau adds that couples will need to pick up an Ontario marriage license, which is available on-location for $125 for Renfrew residents and $150 for people living outside town limits.
Anyone looking to start the process of getting married can email cerrett@renfrew.ca or call 613-432-4848 ext. 116.
