The second annual Valley Cottage Cup pits six local junior hockey teams against each other this weekend.
Action kicks off during the afternoon of Friday, September 1st, at Ma-te-Way Activity Centre, with the Renfrew Wolves hosting three games a day to settle bragging rights ahead of the start of the Junior A season.
The Carleton Place Canadians and Powassan Voodoos will make their return to the tournament and are being joined by newcomers in the Nepean Raiders, Blind River Beavers, and Espanola Paper Kings.
The pre-season competition will be a good chance for Renfrew Wolves fans to get a preview of the new-look team, according to head coach Ryan Leonard. He adds that fan support is much appreciated as the Wolves are financing the tournament, and packing the arena would help them continue to grow the tournament for years to come.
Full weekend passes are available at the MAC doors starting at $35 for adults, with day passes also available for $15 each. Students and children will get a discount of $25 for the weekend and $10 for a day.
