The reconstruction of Renfrew’s Argyle and Lochiel Streets is taking its next step on Tuesday, August 22nd.
Director of Infrastructure and Public Works Connor Jamieson tells myFM News that Opeogno Road will shut down from Bonnechere Street South to Argyle Street South until August 31st to install new watermains and rehabilitate the streets above them.
During that time, the nearby block of Lochiel Street South up to Renfrew Avenue West will also close down for construction. No through traffic will be allowed for either closure, and a detour will be in place while the work happens.
It’s part of a major construction project that has been steadily moving southbound on Lochiel Street since the middle of June.
