A telephone survey going around Arnprior has been found to be a scam.
Town staff in Arnprior say that the survey is pretending to be on behalf of them and Mayor Lisa McGee, and any resident who receives the call should simply hang up and not engage with any related links sent to their phone.
They add that advice goes for any unsolicited phone call, email, or text asking you to clink a link or open an attachment, and that you can find out when and how they conduct public surveys through their website or by calling Town Hall yourself.
If you’re unsure about a message that’s sent your way, research the contact information of the company and contact them yourself to verify.
You should also report any scam, fraud, or cybercrime to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
